World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade feature for items lets players upgrade their existing equipment. This can be done by any item upgrade r NPC.
Upgrades can boost the stats of an item and add extras based on its type. Examples include Whistan’s shield for FB Sorcs or Goldwraps for casting builds.
Armour
Link's armor is an essential element to protect him from harm. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it is able to be improved in a variety of ways to improve its defence capabilities.
Armour is designed to protect animals and people from injury or harm regardless of whether it's a direct physical attack or a range of activity or environmental hazards. Historically, the majority of armour was made from leather or fabric, but metal protections were also utilized, especially for military applications such as heavy cavalry and combat drones.
As with weapons there are a myriad of ways in which armor can be upgraded, but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain offers a different degree of improvement, with more protection levels requiring more rupees as well as materials.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been put in place they aren't able to be removed in the event that you own a piece of equipment with the same upgrade. It is essential to only apply the highest grade of upgrades to your gear and that you have the required materials to complete them.
You will find the upgrades you need in many locations throughout Hyrule. These include shrines, merchants and even enemies. These will generally be marked with a gold circle or a blue triangle symbol and will be available in large quantities as you progress through the game. Weapons
You can upgrade your guns with special upgrades that create a truly unique weapon. These upgrades can increase damage or alter the stats of the weapon to suit your specific build. They also allow new attachments, such as unique enchantments, different kinds of ammunition, and aesthetic options.
You'll need both the upgrade component as well as the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon must be at a certain level for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons can only accept one upgrade at one time.
Weapon upgrade components can be found scattered throughout the world, from enemies or from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are a combination of ingredients that can be slotted into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or extra effect when they are in use. The equipment must be a certain level in order to accept the upgrade. It can be upgraded the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mix of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They can be used to boost the stats of weapons and enhance their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. They can be found from enemies who drop them in the open world, bought from a few merchants or from combat.
There are two NPCs who can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon and an enhancement.
It's important to prioritise upgrading your top-of-the-line items first, and then the ones you won't replace soon. If you're planning to play an asymmetrical build, for example upgrade your weapon, then your chest and shoulders followed by your feet and hands. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on your playstyle, some items will be more useful than others. The same is true for Armour and reforges, with some being superior to others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one magic item at a time. If an upgrade project is canceled then any subsequent upgrades for the item will not start. Magic items that are upgraded cost double the gold they would normally cost to create or buy however, they also offer additional benefits.
A magical item is an item with special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but there are some that include armor, shields as well as cloaks, potions scrolls, rings and other objects. Some of these items are telepathic.
Many magic items can be enhanced in their abilities. This makes them more useful for a player, or it could help them conquer an especially difficult challenge. A weapon that is infused with an ingredient that is unique could offer, for instance, extra damage against a certain kind of enemy. This is especially beneficial for those who have reached the level where they're likely to encounter a particular type of monster repeatedly in Dungeons.
A ring with an infusion could grant immunity to bludgeoning, piercing or slashing injuries from nonmagical attacks (not including silver-plated ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This can be particularly helpful for combatants who are melee, or any character who wishes to get rid of the cost and hassle of purchasing shields.
Some enchanted items have special powers that let the character cast spells in addition to the ones on the list of spells for their class. This is a great benefit for characters who have difficulty maintaining their spell slots because of multiclassing. upgrade item with enchanted abilities typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use them, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling on an array of tables determined by the number of Intelligence points expended.
Other objects with enchanted powers could permit the character's appearance to be changed, or they could even create a new appearance. These items are especially beneficial for characters who are forced to leave their home, or are in a place where they may not be welcomed. An enchanted item might give them an invisible effect, or make them invisible to all other than a selected person.
Utility Items
Utility items are equipment which isn't part of the categories of Armor or Clothing and are able to perform a variety of capabilities. They are not compatible with each other, unlike weapons or armor. Most utility items provide an effect that the player can activate by using them, but some also have additional capabilities that activate when the user presses the button or activates the ability.
The Flashlight is the most popular utilitarian item. It lights up the area around it. Other useful items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. Several utilitarian items can be quickly created in the Engineering section while others can be unlocked through research projects or projects in the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the standard inventory, players can also unlock additional useful items of utility by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded for greater effectiveness.
The majority of utility items boost the combat ability of a particular character or give the player some sort of advantage in navigation. Sharpening stones, created by a Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, made by the Huntsman will increase concentration and healing power. Other items of utility, such as Writs and Theses created by the Scribe, can be used to give the player either a boost in Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one utilitarian item at the start of the campaign, and an additional slot is made available through the use of certain types armor or by completing engineering, research or other projects in the Proving Ground. In the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which lets the player equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in another grenade slot. an offensive grenade is placed in the main grenade slot.
